If the creases are stubborn.

Prepare the fibres before steaming.

A linen or cotton garment with deep-set creases may require you to prepare the fibres to make the job easier.

Spray the garment with a fine mist of demineralised water with a small amount of white vinegar

Leave for 2 minutes so the cotton or linen can absorb it, then use your garment steamer as usual.

This preparation allows the fibres to relax more quickly under the action of the steam. White vinegar also helps remove mineral deposits that can make the fabric feel stiffer.

2010 The demand

Professional garment steamers do not meet the requirements of home use

At that time, we were the only company selling garment steamers in France (since 1994), with an activity exclusively focused on fashion and ready-to-wear professionals.

Gecko-Steamer® launched its online store in 2010 to make its products more easily accessible to professional customers.

UNEXPECTED: private customers began buying our professional steamers to use them at home.

FINDING: The need exists, and so does the demand. But a new garment straight out of a box and a garment that has been washed and machine-spun do not steam in the same way.

2013 The exclusive answer

Gecko-Steamer® leads the way in high-pressure steaming for the home.

Gecko-Steamer® develops the SP06 Blackstorm: the first high-pressure vertical garment steamer on the market, specifically designed for garments that have been washed and machine-spun.

Its advantages: steam produced at 3.5 bar pressure, steam delivered on demand, and above all, nearly ten years ahead of the major household appliance brands.
